Broomwood road, SW11

This Victorian family residence in Battersea underwent a transformation to establish a more open and fluid sequence of spaces on the ground floor. The objective was to seamlessly integrate the kitchen, dining, and garden areas in a manner that is practical, luminous, and harmonious—while maintaining the grace of the original structure.

An extension to the kitchen was added to enhance space and light at the rear of the property. Discreet level changes were employed to define distinct areas without disrupting sightlines, and expansive glazing fosters a serene continuity between the indoors and outdoors.

Natural materials, custom joinery, and a subdued colour scheme infuse warmth and simplicity throughout. The outcome is a layered, contemporary abode that embodies the rhythm of family life and the architectural essence of the locale.

As South West London architects with expertise in renovating Victorian homes, we collaborate closely with clients to transform period properties into homes that feel both rooted and contemporary.
